A pair of shoes well treated is more pleasant to be worn, comfortable and can last a couple of years longer than mistreated shoes. Moreover, if it is not enough, shoes cleaned and well kept are warmer and able to resist water.
Here you can read our suggestions about how to take care of your shoes in a few steps. There is no need to clean in depth your shoes every day. A little bit of maintenance will be enough.

- Clean your shoes regularly ... often: one of the worst enemies of shoes is dirt: from the most elegant leather laces to technical boots for high mountains. Dust and debris stick everywhere, and they are deleterious for seams, couplings of materials and interstices.
The longer you let it pass between cleaning and the more dirt will have a long and easy life. No deep cleaning is required every time you use your shoes; just take a look at your shoes from time to time. If you have walked on a wet sidewalk, on a dusty or muddy path better you clean your shoes. A neutral cleaner, a damp cloth and some wipe will remove dirt from your shoes, removing dust and dirt. - Shoes in a perfect shape, with the shoe-tree: the shoemakers teach us that shoes should rest for a day after they have been worn, to give them time to "rest". When we wear a shoe and walk we stress all the structure: of course, they are designed to be used, but if we take care of using them every other day they will last longer and will keep their original shape.
A dry place like the original packaging box will be fine. Our advice is to keep the shoes in shape with the shoe-trees, in plastic (cheaper) or in cedar wood (cedar absorbs moisture) or varnished wood (more elegant). The uppers will be supported by the shoetrees, the moisture will be absorbed and your shoes will perfectly stand with you during your walks. - Heels always in order: no matter if male or female shoes. Heels, as well as the soles of walking shoes must be renewed periodically. Walking on "heels out of use" has a double effect: you will walk badly (causing joint discomfort and back pain) and ruin your shoes considerably, forcing you to further repairs in addition to the heel. Not to mention the unfortunate but possible occasion in which the heel should abandon you while you are walking through the city.
- Wax on ... wax off!! Inspired by the famous hydrate film "Karate kid" we suggest you take care of leather and other materials of uppers of your shoes. A hydrated leather is flexible, comfortable and resistant, as well as a synthetic upper if clean and protected with the right detergent. The operation takes a few minutes but it's worth it.

If you lazy or you always run of time we give you two last tips. Visit often your shoemaker: do not wait for your shoes to be reduced badly to go to the shoemaker to hope for the miracle. Bring him your shoes every 4-5 months.
Buy an electric shoeshine machine. It works with almost all kind of shoes (just use a neutral and not colored detergent... and not the trainers) and does not require any effort. Just put the shoe on the machine after wearing it and wait a few seconds, going over the various brushes to remove the debris, clean and polish the upper.

On our website, you can find exclusively the Heute shoeshine machines, true champions of the category for quality, reliability, and design!
Often they are considered as equipment for hotels, b&b and working and directional centers, but some shoeshine machines can perfectly fit with privates and families needs.
